Being a venture capitalist is a privilege. One that we don’t take lightly. Our philosophy is to serve — serve our LPs, serve the entrepreneurs we work with, serve the customers who support our founders, and serve our communities.

We know what it is like to be underestimated. It can be lonely, frustrating and tiresome. But we also believe that it is within the underestimated that greatness can be achieved. We find great pride in being their champion.

We believe that talent, entrepreneurial spirit and world -changing businesses are not confined to the historical innovation epicenters. Many cities in North America have all the ingredients to be thriving ecosystem, yet have been often overlooked by the traditional venture capital firms. We will invest anywhere in the country, but we believe that the region between Baltimore and Atlanta represent an exceptional opportunity for outperformance over the coming decade. We focus our deal sourcing strategy to this region. Our team and expanded network of boots on the ground have decades of experience funding and supporting the best teams in these underserved regions.

We invest in anyone with a good idea and the capacity to execute it, but we have a self-imposed target to build a portfolio where 1⁄2 of our companies are started by underrepresented founders (female, black, Latinx). We feel that this is not just the Right thing to do, but also a smart business decision. Investments in underrepresented Founders outperform.
